The 2nd Battalion, 24th Marine Regiment has been activated to service in Iraq. After a 3 month stint of
training at 29 Palms California, they will leave for Iraq. As State Senator and as a citizen, there
is no higher respect one can pay than to those in our military. The day began at 0500 with H&S Company
departing from Chicago and continued later in the day with Weapons Company of Waukegan, Fox Rifle
Company of Milwaukee, Echo Company from Des Moines as well as Golf Company of Madison shipping out. We stand together in honor and unqualified appreciation of the men and women
who serve and wish them well.
